Schluter Arrival Procedures
For your child’s safety, no students are allowed to be at school before 7:20 am unsupervised.
Our school start time is 7:40 am. Students should be in their seats and ready to learn at the 7:40 am bell.
After 7:40 am, all students must enter through the front office, marked as tardy.
Breakfast will be served in the cafeteria from 7:20 am -7:35 am.
Students will sanitize their hands upon entering the building.
Arrival Expectations
Car Riders
The back driveway is for car drop offs in the mornings. Beginning at 7:20 am until 7:35 am, school personnel will be at the back of the school to assist students as needed getting out of the car. Students should be ready to exit the car on the curbside upon arrival.
Please do not leave children unattended until school personnel have arrived and back doors are open.
After 7:35 am, you will need to drop off your child at the front of the building. Parents should stay in a single line and pull all the way to the front of the line to drop off your student.
Students should be ready to exit the car on the curbside upon arrival.
If desired, parents may park in a parking spot, not in the car line, in the front of the building.
Students should have backpacks and masks (optional) on before exiting the car so they are ready to enter the building.
Bus Riders
Bus riders have different entrances to enter the building. The bus will stop at each entrance at the front of the building.
4th and 5th grade - entrance by 4th grade hall
2nd and 3rd grade - main entrance doors
Kinder and 1st grade - entrance by Kindergarten hall
Walkers & Bike Riders
Walkers need to enter through the front of the school by grade level doors.
Doors do not open until 7:20 am.
Bikes should be parked and locked on the designated bike racks in the front of the school.
We are not responsible for lost or stolen bikes. Please make sure that bikes that are ridden to school are locked up properly.
Schluter Dismissal Procedures
Ride changes must be requested prior to 2:00 pm.
There will be no early dismissal after 2:30 pm.
This is due to an increase in the amount of traffic and for the safety of your child.
Dismissal Expectations
Car Riders
All car riders will be picked up in the back driveway of the school.
When entering the car line, parents will form two lines. Please make sure that once you have selected a line, you stay in that line until you have picked up your child. Teachers will supervise students’ departure.
A Schluter green dismissal card on the front dash that details the child’s name and grade should be visible. These will come home with students on the first day of school. Visibility of the sign will assist us in providing a quick, safe and smooth dismissal process. After the first day of school, if you do not have a sign, you will be asked to go to the front office to pick up your student there. This ensures that all students are arriving safely at home.
Car riders will not be released to the car line after 3:10. At 3:10, the entrance to the back of the school will be blocked off with cones and cars will need to go to the front of the school.
Walkers & Bike Riders
Walkers and bike riders will only be dismissed out either the Primary or Intermediate side doors of the school.
Please specify Primary or Intermediate doors if your child is a walker.
Bike riders are dismissed directly after buses have left the driveway and are followed by walkers.
If picking your child up by car, they must be a car rider. Please do not use walker dismissal for car pick-up. This is for the safety of all students and staff.
